One of the best action movie parodies/Hollywood and celebrity culture satires of modern cinema-I will die on this hill! for Matthew Fromm's Bad Movie Review Challenge Thing

Look, it's Matt Damon!

Thanks for reading!

Author's Notes: I will not ramble mumble on too much about this but unironically Team America: World Police, by Trey Parker and Matt Stone (of South Park fame) is one of the best action movie parodies, Hollywood and celebrity culture satires of all time. And done with some amazing set pieces featuring marionettes, inspired by Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds. It is start to end hilarious, has some genuinely great songs (that was always a strong point of South Park and Parker and Stone anyway) and just yeah, an absolute riot. It's quite offensive, in case you didn't realise that, but truly if you have not seen this movie, you should. Like, right now. I am not even joking and I will die on the hill in a bloody battle defending it.

Still some time to join in the fun if you haven't done so already, but even if you have, why not do a few more?:

The cover photo looked terrifying... 😅 Love the haiku though, you almost have more conned into checking this one out but I'd rather not suffer the nightmares. 😂

Ya know, I have not watched this hilarious film for years (again, I have the dvd somewhere) so I don’t remember the references you make in your second line! All good! I mean I know you probably don’t like EVERYTHING with ‘puppets’ ha, but did you ever watch The Dark Crystal TV series a few years back now…? I really dug that but barely remember it.

  • I've never even heard of this movie but I sure love parodies hehehehe.

You should read up on the story behind the production. Short story short: Matt and Trey almost went insane because the puppet work was so difficult and they insisted on practical effects for everything. Even with a full-on team of puppeteers and special effects people, most scenes would require a dozen takes at minimum before they got one that didn't look awful. This entire scene is incredible, but the "bail out" had me doubled over laughing the first time I saw it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvX3YUqkbOo&ab_channel=Ricknee4Ever Perhaps the only scene that didn't require a dozen takes, lmao

I am so all over that! The trailer was HILARIOUS!!! 2004? Where the hell have I been for the last 20 years. Love South Park so I know this must be ridiculous and funny.
