Each and every, Tale of Torment, has its origin... its very own, Taxing Endeavor...

I've learned to love, but

not for me.

I've learned how to give, but

never how to receive.

Meeting every need but my own...

What is love, really?

I'm walking on the thinnest ice with this concept

hoping not to fall through‐

I know, that no one will catch such a fall

and no calls will be missed thereafter.

I am, both loving and hating

the very same parts of this world that surround me.

This heart that cares, came at a cost...

the price of being broken so many times,

the toll of my tears being outspoken so many times,

the tax of doors I almost wish never opened‐

but that fantasy is far from my most dangerous...

Who am I really healing?...

Me?...

or the world around me‐

I'm tired of asking

"What about me?..."

Too many, is this cloud of witnesses...

Who is reaping what I sow?...

Too many, are the scars left behind on this tender heart...

if only this world knew‐

What would happen?...

if this war within me were on full display‐

for it to simply show

that there's a story I'd rather not tell...

Written well within Tales of Torment,

are tell-tale signs, of exactly what they tell,

and each is its own, Taxing Endeavor...

and every single one, I question‐

For my sake?...

or others?...

"What about me?..."

Each and every, Tale of Torment, has its origin,

its very own, Taxing Endeavor...

and for what?...

I've learned to love anyone and everyone except he who needs it most..

the very he that stands in the mirror—

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
