Tales of Torment: Counting To Infinity

I am no longer looking for anything...

every morning, a timer is set,

i can only wait for the last grains of sand to fall‐

when the sun rises, i can only wait for it to set once again...

waiting for night to fall,

that i may leave reality, and my consciousness, behind me‐

i, at times, wish to be blind to time, but

unfortunately, such a concept has become it's own form of torment,

like counting to infinity‐

at the break of each day

my surroundings share a joy which i do not...

eyes that light with colors i can't comprehend,

smiles i am unable to understand‐

"what's wrong with me?..."

left behind in every wretched moment,

every second is a curse,

and i'm counting to infinity‐

no morning, nor day...

nor is any evening, nor night

of this "gift" easy to live...

not that i'm looking for it to be...

nor anything, really

at least, not anymore

i am just, merely

counting to infinity-

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
