In the world around us, so much can be found,
A universe of sensation that astounds.
From the scent of a rose to the taste of a pie,
Our senses bring us wonder that we can't deny.
First, let us consider the power of sight,
The way that we see with such effortless might.
From the colors of autumn to the stars up above,
Our eyes take it all in, a sight to behold and love.
Then there is the sense of touch, so very unique,
With textures that we feel, both smooth and oblique.
From the softness of a puppy to the roughness of stone,
Our fingertips perceive it all, leaving us not alone.
Next comes the sense of smell, delicate and strong,
With scents that waft around us, all day long.
From the perfume of a flower to the aroma of food,
Our noses tell us what's good and what's crude.
And what about our sense of taste, oh so grand,
With flavors that we savor, on tongue and on gland.
From the sweetness of fruit to the salt of the sea,
Our taste buds revel in diversity, happy and free.
Lastly, we have the sense of sound, so wondrous and clear,
The way that we hear, both far and near.
From the sound of laughter to the music of life,
Our ears catch it all, the joy and the strife.
So let us celebrate these five senses we hold,
A world of sensation, forever to unfold.
For through these senses, we experience the world,
And all its beauty, ever to be unfurled.
