The muted hues
Were dulled by clouds' drapery,
Dressed in grey
Almost like they were made for me.
Lulled into symmetry,
My veins losing their blue,
I waited eagerly for the sun
And my cynicism grew.
But before complete descent
Diluted warmth kissed my skin;
The colours rejoiced,
I danced and joined in.
The burning shades
In a gently bound embrace,
Holding hands
With the grey I couldn't face.
A brief exchange of gazes
But that was all I needed
To know that you would keep me warm
Every time the sun retreated.
Lulled into symmetry,
My face became brighter,
Sharing the same spirited colours
As the sky's new attire.
