Switch of Life

Glitch in reality

steady slender finger

slowly growing ever nearer

caught in a

time dilation field

centered around

the old switch plate

flesh and bone draws closer

gravity’s force pulls increasingly harder

until imperceptible motion sparks

miraculous midair contact

instantly shocking the world

into fast-forward motion

already caught inside the wall

detonating in a shower of

sparks and gore

delighting and appalling onlookers

as they leave without paying their bills

one by one they shuffle out

diving off the cliff

as they exit the shot-out

stained glass door
