"Swimming with Anxiety"

I need to learn Swim

By Aima CharlePublished 8 months ago β€’ 1 min read

The cool, inviting blue I see,

A silent promise, wild and free.

But 'neath the surface, shadows creep,

Secrets that my heart will keep.

Each stroke, a battle, breath I hold,

A story in my mind unfolds.

Of worries whispered, doubts that sting,

The anxious current pulling, clinging.

My muscles tense, a silent plea,

To simply float, to just be me.

But thoughts like anchors drag me down,

Beneath the surface, where I drown...

Not in the water, deep and wide,

But in the fears I hold inside.

Yet, still I push, with faltering grace,

To find a rhythm, find my space.

For even with the rising tide

Of apprehension, deep inside,

A fragile strength begins to grow,

A gentle current, soft and slow.

And in that struggle, I can find,

A moment's peace, a calmer mind.

The surface reached, a hopeful sigh,

Beneath the vast and open sky.
