Swamp Thing
Oh damn, I am lost in your eyes, you gorgeous starlit wonder
in a deep moor
under a new sun,
I found myself wading
Waiting
*****
****
There was a rapturous fire
Inside your moor
Circling
Your form
And I hoped to unlock
Your slimy door
*****
*******
In the harsh white sunlight,
I peered below
And saw your
Yellow
Eyes.
*****
They were brighter than starlight,
More luminous than anything in space.
Longing for you,
Longing for you
I longed to read your yellow story
Your yellow soul
And for you to see me,
To long for me,
You gorgeous Swamp Thing,
I love you,
It’s true.
****
I swam all morn,
And got swallowed up in your eyes.
****
You didn’t mean to not see me, you
were afraid.
****
But once my sweaty hand
Reached for your mossy, frantic appendage,
Our eyes linked up.
Like two lonely satellites across from each other,
Pinging messages from far away.
And oh yes that’s it, you’re beautiful
*****
I dance with you in your beam of yellow stardust
Stardust
I get swallowed up
Swallowed up
In your yellow eyes
And it’s true,
Swamp Thing,
It’s oh so terribly true,
You’re so beautiful,
And I’m lost now
In your pulsing yellow eyes,(my heart beats in the same crazed manner)
And in this deep moor
What can all the details of smoothness bring
With a grassy mossy yellow you?
You captured me in a space-time blanket,
Capturing my soul’s kiss,
My mortality, my skin
blue.
