Swallows Nests

A haiku

Gourd-shaped swallow mud nests,

even these birds know—

we thrive in community support.

Note: These mud nests are made by cliff swallows, often under eaves or bridges. They build nests in colonies, and I’m sure it gives them more safety. Together, their noise and numbers help fend off predators and keep themselves safe.
