Surviving

The burns have healed over, but the memories still burn me within.

My heart is wounded and my mind is broken,

my soul slowly seeping through the cracks and healing the wounds.

I am the warrior of my own mind and heart,

piecing the puzzles back together on my own

finding myself on the other side of the war.

I wear my battle scars as a badge of honor,

reminders that strength comes from struggle and I made it through.

Every old version of me burned in the fire,

and like the phoenix, I have been reborn.

I survived the fire, and now I carry the flame.
