I was flying through the sky,

Soaring through the clouds so high.

I felt weightless, free, and wild,

As I travelled through this dreamscape mile by mile.

The landscape below was strange and new,

A world of colors bright and true.

I saw a lake of shimmering gold,

And a forest of trees made of purest jade, so bold.

I came upon a castle of pure crystal,

A structure of light that was truly pivotal.

Inside, a feast of endless delights,

Foods and drinks that were pure, unbridled sights.

But the dream took a turn, as dreams often do,

And suddenly I was being chased by a creature so true.

It had the body of a lion, the head of a snake,

And it was gaining on me, no mistake.

I ran and ran, my heart in my throat,

Trying to escape this most bizarre and remote

Of dreams. And just when I thought all was lost,

I woke up in a sweat, my body tossed.

But even now, as I sit and reflect,

I can't help but smile and feel respect

For the wonders and horrors that dreams can bring,

A never-ending, constantly shifting, surrealistic fling.
