Surprise Me At Night
The turn around date

The crowds are loud
drinks fill the room,
another tinder date,
something I’m so not used to.
He babbles on about his ex wife
I stare past him to the waiter
And think to myself,
his ass is kinda nice.
My phone buzzes
And I use it as an excuse,
It’s just an Instagram notification
But I let it be my muse.
I slip outside to take my pretend call,
What a waste of a night,
this guy isn’t interesting at all.
I pace back and forth,
as I make up what to say
It’s starts raining hard
Shit, what a day!
The rain seems to stop
And I look up to the air,
surprised by an umbrella
And the waiter standing there.
His eyes are gorgeous
a Everest green,
he stands 6 foot tall
And his body looks super lean.
He smiles down at me,
as he says I look cold
I awkwardly laugh
and said I was just going for a stroll.
We talk for a while
And I watch as my date leaves,
No text, no call, he wasn’t looking for me.
He slips off into the crowd,
right where he belongs.
As the waiter tell me his name,
And that he lives here in town.
He takes me by the hand
And offers to buy me a drink
The night just got better,
thanks to tinder, I think…
