Support, Confidence, and a Whole Lot of Love
A Pantoum poem
I’ll be there with you,
When you wake up in the morning sun.
I’ll be there with you,
If you call out my name, I will always come.
----**** ---- ****
By your side, where I belong,
I’ll be there with you,
Together we’ll be strong,
I’ll be there with you.
----**** ---- ****
Take my hand, I’ll help you each day,
I’ll be there with you.
Whatever, whenever and come what may,
I’ll be there with you.
----**** ---- ****
[Author's note: I had not heard of Pantoums before I read a poem by Angie:
Denise Lindquist's poems inspired Angie. That is the beauty of communities: mutual inspiration. I promised Angie I would give it a go. This is my first attempt at a pantoum.
The pantoum is a poem of any length, composed of four-line stanzas in which each stanza's second and fourth lines serve as the next stanza's first and third lines. The last line of a pantoum is often the same as the first.
Traditionally, pantoums consisted of two or three stanzas. Additionally, alternating lines in each stanza had to rhyme. Modern pantoums have no limit in terms of length, and many do not rhyme at all. The defining feature of the pantoum form, both traditional and modern, is the four-line stanzas .]
Till next time,
