sunset on my mind

but nowhere near as beautiful as you are

this evening, from my bedroom window,

I watched as the sun's light dimmed-

illuminated her opponent,

and I wondered what you were doing;

were you also marvelling at this painting?

and were you thinking of the fact

that it nowhere near compared to

the one we bore witness to,

just the other night?
