Sunlight on the Windowsill

Small Heat.

By Novel AllenPublished 21 days ago 1 min read

Golden beam arrives

dust floats in warm quiet light,

winter leans to dream.

Sunlight on the sill,

Glow barely kisses the ice,

but it warms the soul.

I find such simple things precious these days.

You skillfully convey winter’s quiet introspection, balancing the cold of ice with the warmth of sunlight, evoking both physical and emotional resonance.

  • Well-wrought! "Winter leans to dream" evokes to my mind Old Man Winter closing his eyes as he leans into and faces the sun. Great line!

  • This was so warm abd wonderful. Loved it!
