Sunlight Fading

The night can only be my enemy

Sunlight Fading

I sit alone in the room where sunlight fades,

shadows draping themselves across the floor,

I hold your memory like a fragile flame,

its warmth both comforting and painful.

The walls are lined with echoes of laughter,

photographs capturing moments that cannot stay,

I run my fingers across each frame,

tracing the curves of smiles I cannot touch.

Time slips past, slow and relentless,

minutes folding into hours like soft paper,

I speak to the empty air around me,

your name spilling into the silence.

A candle flickers on the windowsill,

its light trembling with quiet persistence,

I lean closer, letting it anchor my heart,

even as the night presses cold against my skin.

The world outside carries on unaware,

but here I remain with memory and longing,

holding each fragment of love and loss,

knowing they are mine to carry forever.

One must remember losses of all kinds for that is just human.

Grief and nostalgia is fate of humans, emotional that we are. Nice depiction.
