before it

touches

me

home

I could live here

learn to break

surface

tension

skip

rocks

and

roll

and

pins

and

needles

have I now

adopted

or

adapated

to

the

shape

of

you

can

break

a

face

a

fast

a

promise

your

water

birth

a

nation

a

notion

every

origin

has

a

story

benign

is

born

well

and

malignant

is

born

to be

bad

if your

cell

is

a

foreign

invader

does

the

caste

system

care

if

you

rock

paper

scissors

shoot

first

the light

turned

on

can

reflect

refract

or

polarize

it

depends

on

what

you

are

willing

to

see
