A nature poem

I observe daybreak and the departing dark

From my quiet corner window seat

Watching the sky light up as day dawns

Like a blue canvas with white clouds

Clouds emerge in the wakening sky

Some like large woolen bales of cotton

Others like streaky white puffs of fur

Lining up the morning sky

For miles and miles as far as the eye can see

In the east a vast cloudless blue

In the west a dense cumulus cloud

In the north, the sun waits behind stratus clouds

And in the south scattered streaks of white line the sky

The sun rays peek from behind a cloud

Its warmth slowly spreading out

As it brightens up the morning sky

Shining brighter and brighter

Till resplendent, it stands out in all its glory

A calm fills my soul as I behold the heavenly wonders

And bask in the beauty of vast heavens and endless skies

The sun’s rays brightening amidst dissipating cloud cover

As wisps of evaporation splay forth about it

Till bursting forth it glows in a blaze of glory
