A poem of distance between friends

How come you never let me in?

Do you even know what was missing?

Because I'd have loved to see the world through your eyes.

However despondent I hoped;

Lead me through trails to the skies.

When it was my steps you traced, there was no journey of this kind.

I could feel your heart fall short of your feet but you tried.

You told me to be weary of whom I call a friend, and so I did,

And I waited on an invite to your adventures.

Now it seems like a pact only kept on my end.

Friendship
