Summerboy

James & Oneg's Summer Writing Challenge Extravaganza

By Chloe GilholyPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

July 31st - Challenge #1 Sweet Summer Songs: Pick a song that reps summer for ya. Use the song as the title to inspire a poem or micro fic about summer

I’ve picked Summerboy by Lady Gaga. Not her best song, but this song along with the whole The Fame album captures summer for me.

Counting under the pineapple tree

With our eyes closed; 1, 2, 3

Where the heck’s my bubble tea?

🧋

Cute Hollywood sunglasses

Riding on top belgium waffles

Summer’s so international

🌎

Couldn’t find the right bikini

but I never felt so free

It’s a fun kind of busy

🙈

Lemon and limes cocktail shakes

Never have I felt so awake in

Plant-based downward dogs

🐶

I know that you are my

perfect treat for the eye

no need to cry

😿

Summer will return

We can still be cozy in Spring and Winter

Autumn’s pumpkin spice is coming soon.

🎃

love poems
