Summer Songs

July 4th

By Julie LacksonenPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Play while reading. Think of the thunder as fireworks!

In summer, nature sings her grandest song

For many voices cry resounding calls

The crickets, frogs, and birds all sing along

Their music rivals those in concert halls.

🇺🇸

And people add to summer's raucous noise

With concerts in the park, and party sounds

And boistrous laughter made by girls and boys

Will demonstrate to all that joy abounds.

🇺🇸

Then whistles forecast animated cheers

And loud explosions pierce the summer sky

Those sensitive to sound will shield their ears,

As fireworks make thunder from up high.

🇺🇸

The summer music fades and falls away,

Until next year, on Independence Day.
