Summer Searching

Stay awhile

The swell of Summer cascades onto my egg-shell curtains,

The warmth tickles my cat's whiskers, invites her to stay a while.

The smell of something syrupy sweet grazes my nose,

Ice clanking, laughter from up the street,

Hot pavement slick with water hose drippings and bubble gun remnants.
