Summer's Promise

A gift arrived, a package from afar

It traveled through space, a soldier's memoir

A surprise that brought tears to my eyes

A treasure from dad, a true surprise

He's out there fighting for what's right

A brave soldier, with all his might

My heart swells with pride and love

A father I cherish, sent from above

Inside the box, a picture of us

Smiling and happy, no hint of fuss

A necklace too, with a golden heart

A symbol of love, never to part

The tears flow freely, down my cheek

Grateful for the gift, words can't speak

Thankful for a father, so brave and true

The love he shows, through and through

This gift means more, than words can say

A soldier's love, never fades away

I wear the necklace, close to my heart

A constant reminder, we're never apart

So here's to my father, a soldier so brave

Sending love and thanks, beyond the grave

I'll treasure this gift, forevermore

A reminder of love, to my very core.
