Every Summer

The Las Vegas sun was beaming

And all I could do was cheer

It was the last day of school

But summer was finally here

Flying kites and having foot races

It was all day and all night joy

Going to the park and the swimming pool

Like every other girl and boy

A half court game of basketball

Football, flag or touch

Hop scotch, tag at the playground

watching the girls play double dutch

These are some of the things I did

Every summer as a little kid.
