Summer's in the Air

Days Gone By

By Wendy GliddenPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Kids on bikes escaping the summer heat;

Drinking ice cold lemonade fresh and cool.

Neighborhood baseball games on ev'ry street;

The smell of chlorine coming from the pool.

Friends push friends on the swing of rope & tire;

Running through sprinklers, throwing a water bomb.

Kids roast hot dogs on sticks over the fire;

Burgers on the grill, steak for dad and mom.

Camping, caving, paddle boat on the lake;

A sweet soft summer kiss from your first love.

A picnic sounds like fun, what should we take?

Fireworks exploding in the air above!

Elephant ears, turkey legs, county fair;

Roller coaster rides, summer's in the air.
