Summer's End
A poem about the quiet perfection of late summer.
By Madison "Maddy" NewtonPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

Sunset or a new dawn?
Sunsets ablaze, as if releasing the colors of fall.
Incredible warmth wrapped in crisp new cool.
Let the leaves begin to change, but don't let them touch ground. Not now.
Even the crickets are quieting their song, enjoying the calm.
Never let late summer pass you by, its splendor is meant to be felt.
Comforting yet fiery, a late season in open rebellion,
Eager for newness but unable to say goodbye just yet.
