Summer Of Regrets

The Weight of Choices

By zulfi buxPublished about a year ago 1 min read

In the quiet dusk of a summer’s end,
Where shadows stretch and whispers blend,
Memories linger like the heat of the day,
A tapestry woven in shades of gray.

Beneath the sun's relentless gaze,
We danced in light, caught in a haze,
Yet dreams once bright began to fray,
As choices made turned to dismay.

Laughter echoed on the breeze,
Fleeting moments, lost with ease,
We chased the sun, both wild and free,
But the tide pulled back, left us to see.

Promises lingered, like dust in the air,
What once felt solid, now fragile and rare,
We walked through fields, hand in hand,
But time unraveled our carefully planned.

Regrets, like fireflies, flicker and fade,
In the silence, the choices we made,
Haunting reminders of paths not taken,
The weight of decisions, forever unshaken.

Yet in the twilight, there’s beauty still,
A lesson learned, a heart to fill,
For even in sorrow, the sun must rise,
And hope springs eternal beneath vast skies.

So I gather my dreams, though tattered and torn,
In the warmth of the dusk, a new dawn is born,
For summer of regrets, though heavy it seems,
Is but the beginning of a life full of dreams.
