Zephyr took me firmly by the hand,
swirling motion and sooty sand,
lifting me higher until the ground was forgotten,
away from broken branches, ugly and rotten.
~
Higher, higher... stomach flipping out,
unsure journey, and steady route,
callipygian form waving,
away, away... as to never be staying.
~
Lustrously robust and wonderfully fragile,
of His eye, the apple,
shredded, but finally, freedom sweet,
shining grinning prize, enveloping embrace upbeat.
~
Alas, flying high, to final destination,
or perchance not, with steady hesitation,
even as I fall back down in altered fragments,
as I am a leaf, destined to weather such sentiments.

This was floaty and fierce! Who knew sand and sentiment could tango like that?
Enchanting poem. Loved the rhythm and seeming fragility in it. The imagery in your writing brings it to life. Great work!
Wow, Rowan. This is breathtaking, the words, the music… beautiful!
Beautiful poem and well-matched to the music. Loved it!
