Such a Cruel Place For a Mirror

(strangers medicine cabinet)

By Joshua HessPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Staring my reflection down in a strangers medicine cabinet, such a cruel place for a mirror,

My angels have all gone mute allowing every demon to cheer on my latest mistake,

Still there's time to change my mind even as my sweaty palms leave evidence on the smooth glass,

Jesus how I long for that bitter chalky codeine covered abstract dream,

Closing the cabinet I remember how exhausting it is, living wrapped in the awful stench of regret.
