Pensive People
We sit together in comfy home.
Picking the words apart with a fine toothed comb.

What kinds of things had he seen?
Peace in the midst of enemies.
New mercies used as remedies.
No fear even in thick evil presence.
Hope living in this heart's residence.
Blessings abounding.
Mysteries confounding.
Lead us one step at a time.
Lead us away from crime.
Let us not self-destruct.
Let us be ready to instruct.
Discipline sure hurts.
Keep us away from the outskirts.
Darkness is powerless.
Through paths of starkness.
Stay in the pack so that we learn.
Because to wander, our hearts yearn.
