STUBBLE BUBBLE TROUBLE

a poem

By Aaron MorrisonPublished 2 years ago 1 min read
Art by me.

Unwrap soft prism in anticipation

Place between teeth and tongue

Thirteen, fourteen, fifteen chews

And now the flavor’s gone

Manipulate

Stretch

Exhale

Tenuous orb expansion

Fragile limits reached

Sticky shrapnel lodging in

After sudden detonation

Peanut butter will not fix this

I only have one option

Scissors and razor now revealing

A ghastly image in the mirror

I recoil in fright

And feel my insides curdle

I’d forgotten that I have no chin

And that I look just like a turtle
