A cinquain is a form of poetry that is very popular because of its simplicity. It was created by American poet Adelaide Crapsey about 100 years ago and is similar to Japanese poetic forms, such as haiku and tanka.
Cinquains are five lines long.
They have 2 syllables in the first line, 4 in the second, 6 in the third, 8 in the fourth line, and just 2 in the last line.

Winners and losers Have the same goals, don’t they make A change but actions Senryū (川柳, literally ‘river willow’) is a Japanese form of short poetry similar to haiku in construction: three lines with 17 morae (or “on”, often translated as syllables, but see the article on onji for distinctions). Senryū tends to be about human foibles, while haiku tend to be about nature, and senryū are often cynical or darkly humorous while haiku are more serious. Unlike haiku, senryū do not include a kireji (cutting word) and do not generally include a kigo, or season word.

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
