Stressed Women

Too much on their platter. They are tired of juggling

I am appalled by society's hypocrisy,

In patriarchal countries like India,

women were shackled—

by veils, bangles, and anklets.

Then the wind of change blew,

girls could study, work, and earn.

and suddenly her life changed,

she is expected to be a superwoman.

The woman marries, after long academics

moves cities, for her husband’s career,

she adjusts her own dreams,

she handles pregnancy and upskilling,

she gets a job in another city,

cares for the children—

all while being away from her spouse.

Imagine the stress on her.

She endured it all,

to stay married,

for the sake of the kids.

But one day, the bank of tolerance broke.

She called it quits.

In India, many women today

carry more load than men.

Kids, jobs, house—

often away from family support,

Earning sure, but immense hurt.

Little joy, pain galore,

financial security is there,

but too much on her platter.

I believe they she should revolt—

with clear communication,

no more silence, for that's in vain.

She must vent her frustration,

or it will make her sick—like poison.

Women shouldn't have to break to be heard. Thanks for putting into words what so many women feel today.
