Strength

… through neglect will cause us all to suffer.

By Tim GracePublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Durable strength - be it strong and able.

Be it built of steel with spine and structure.

Be it rugged. Be it tough and stable.

Be it made of stuff that's hard to rupture.

.

Dependable strength - given guts and grit.

Given stamina when it’s needed most.

Given gravitas in the thick of it.

Given to be the guard that holds their post.

.

Disabled strength - badly crippled and lame,

buckled and bent. Bemoaning a tackle

that rested hope of any longer game;

as with shorter noose came tighter shackle.

.

Strength - when not given break or buffer

through neglect will cause us all to suffer.

.

About the Creator

Tim Grace

A first impression has a lasting effect - it makes a notable difference. In a subtle way that’s who I am as a poet. A ‘first impression’ looking for the gentle ‘twist’ that draws attention to a novel observation.
