My mum and I had a tussle

Really just a little spat

I huffed out the door

Being a teenaged brat

I was walking down the road

When I met a man with a van

He was white, about 40

With an uneven tan

It was all hunky dory okay

Until he smilingly offered me candy

Asked me if a ride home

Wouldn't be just Jim Dandy

Said it was quite hot

And I looked quite tired

I looked in his eyes

He seemed quite wired

Had a nervous tic

Made his eye twitch

In his left hand

Had some kind of switch

His smile was a bit off...

He seemed a strange toff

Still, the candy was my favorite

The sun was quite hot

I took a step forward

Before truly had a thought

Then I heard my dear Mum's voice in my ear

Telling me of things I really should fear

Second on the list, boys wanting to get handsy

Top of the list... Stranger's bearing candy

Just as he reached for me

I jumped right back

Took off running

Like a bloodhound on track

Last I saw of Mr Crooked Smile

He was headed up the Crooked Mile

.... Thanks Mum ... Sorry for being a brat
