Battered by 94 mph winds in the grip of storm Darragh

Storm Darragh’s Fury

The winds came howling, fierce and wild,

As if the heavens raged, beguiled.

Storm Darragh lashed at Wales’ green land,

With floods and ruin at its hand.

Through valleys deep, the rivers swelled,

Their peaceful paths no longer held.

Homes were drowned, roads turned to streams,

Shattered lives replaced soft dreams.

Ancient trees, proud sentinels, tall,

Bowed to the tempest, began to fall.

Roots unearthed, their strength betrayed,

By 94-mile winds that swayed.

The mountains wept as rains poured down,

Fields became a sodden crown.

Villages stood in water’s grip,

A battered land on hardship’s ship.

Yet Wales endures, its heart remains,

Through nature’s wrath, through storms and pains.

For in its soul, a fire burns bright,

A strength to weather endless night.

Storm Darragh’s name shall fade with time,

But Wales will rise, steadfast, sublime.

This is a sign of climate change,

Our whole world is acting very strange.
