Storm Clouds
"I have been here before; I will bring myself home."
It's an overwhelming sight – the nearly black clouds looming overhead that hunger to block out the sun and pour down onto us an unshakable feeling – one that leaves us empty yet fills us with uncertainty. However – this condition is fleeting. I see through the cracks in the dark sky cover; I allow the cold bullets to reach me. Because my memory serves to remind me of the light blue, airy white, and bright green that follows. And familiarity reminds me further, that there is nothing to fear as a storm begins to roll.
I have been here before; I will bring myself home.
This poem is inspired by my mental state the past couple of weeks. March is not an easy month for me and my family and because of that I felt very down and out – I was afraid I was going to give up writing and YouTube videos again. However, through forcing myself to write this poem, I remembered that I've been in this dark place before and that I brought myself out of it then, too. Now, I'm certain there's nothing to fear at all.
