Reading all the hate on both sides, gets old after awhile, so I wrote this...

Stop,

With all

The fighting

The empty words

The judgment

One political party

Attacking another

And then it leads

To one person attacking

Another!

Stop Words

Of hate Destroy

Not political parties

But the people

Some try to save.

Stop,

I don't care

If your conservative

Or liberal

Left or right

I'm not going

To blame

You for the

Failings of

Whatever political

Party you

Claim,

Honestly I don't

Care.

That's not who

You are at

The core.

Stop,

Each negative word, or hateful

comment that

Shifts blame

Is like a child

Playing a game

That can't be won

But the stakes are

High

When a person's

Very worth

Seems to be

Put on the line

At every turn.

Stop,

Words of hate

Destroy,

Be mindful of

What you say

Or as my parents

And Grandparents

Said when I

Was a little girl

If you can't think

Of anything nice to say

Say nothing at all.

I like the way you separate the strident arguement from the core of the person.
