Stolen Childhood

Growing Up Too Soon

By AkshitaPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

When I was supposed to play

Life taught me lessons the hard way

When I was supposed to laugh

Life made me suffer on someone else’s behalf

When I was supposed to hear a lullaby

Life made me listen to words that made me cry

When I was supposed to prepare for school tests

Life gave me its syllabus and tests

When I was supposed to go out and gain experience

Life made me sit in silence

When I was supposed to have fun

Life gave me so much pain that I wanted to run

You captured the feeling of growing up too soon with such honesty.
