still know my way home by Ali Sadeek

🎵 "Still Know My Way Home"
I still know my old street name
I thought I forgot, but it's the same
Back when the skies were gray
And they told us all to run away
I was just a child back then
But I could think like wiser men
Our house stood by the alley side
And I still see our neighbor’s pride
She stood and cried, her voice was clear
"Why should we leave what we hold dear?"
"Why give them what we built in tears?"
"This land is ours, not theirs to smear!"
Oh, I would die for you, my land
With empty hands, I’d make a stand
The cowards bowed and walked in fear
No soul, no truth, no honor near
But she… she fell within a beat
While voices rose out in the street
Brothers rose and took the lead
They knew just what the moment needs
The world turned upside down again
We were told to flee, to bear the pain
Though years have passed and I'm grown tall
I still recall it—through it all
I may be far, I may be gone
But I still know where I belong
That door, that wall, that dusty road
Still live inside this heart I hold
I’d die again for you, my land
With open arms, I'd take a stand
No fear can steal what’s truly mine
The truth survives the test of time
And I still know my way back home
One day, I swear, we will return
The truth will shine, the fight will burn
The truth will rise… again… again…
Yeah, the truth will rise again.
