I once breezed coolly through open doors,
Safe in a shell of steely blues and crisp greens.
The colour of water glinting in the sun
Rushed over my body bringing familiar calm.
The light passing through oak leaves
Dappled my skin so I felt like a mystery.
The bright icy sky of dawn in the wintertime
Lit my face and I knew I was beautiful.
Then, I stepped tentatively outside of
The hues of oceans and trees and skies
My shimmering armour fell away
Taking with it the cool front, so aloof.
The colours became the soft pinks
Of insides turned out for others to see
And words spoked from uncertain lips
And gentle moments in dim lit rooms.
