Ocean’s Serenade

Lulling waves caressing, crash softly on the shore

Melody a peaceful droning song of life

Ocean’s scent heady, comforting languor

A pairing of such perfection, husband and wife

Lovers movements, synchronicity

Sound and scent wedded, perfect union

In rain and sun the song remains simplicity

Ebb and flow without end, never oblivion

Our lovers song, it woos, seduces

No one’s besotted soul escapes

No other lyrical, fragrance satisfies or infuses

Lifelong longing for their seascapes

Upon returning from afar

Cacophony of emotions fill the heart

Long lost friends, these lovers are

Shared love story from the start

The ocean shares her life-force, secrets

With all who dare to draw near

Her spell tempts and caresses our senses

And thought be but far always we hear

The ocean’s serenade

Moon

In light you slumber hidden, secure

Away from sight, but never absent

Your influence on land and shore

Patiently waiting your time, content

At twilight seen to rise, awaken

To chase your love, your desire

She runs from you yet your still taken

By her light, her warmth, her fire

Elusively you search the skies

But cannot find her there

She teases shining on your face, your eyes

You’ll keep pursuing fully aware

O moon, infatuated, you love her dearly

Love’s only chance to catch its mate

Just on occasion will you touch her nearly

Forever longing, suffering your fate

O moon, how desperate the sadness

Your lover sun elusive evermore

Eclipsing love, all fleeting moments

Though bound, a marriage, you endure

O knowing moon, never to catch your sun

Your light, your sun, your love keeps running

Always apart as two, not one

You beam in darkness, and she in light, both stunning

Sun

A beauty in the sky so brightly

She’s warmth, gives life and shines the moon

Sun in pursuit of her lover nightly

In disappearing day light all too soon

Be nothing hidden in the sunny day

Sun cannot find her moon, her lover

She shines her light, keeps him at bay

Her love, her eyes shining for him, no other

Sun sees moon’s face each day, dusk and twilight

No touch of her love to give save illumination

This dance of courtship she day, he night

Physical union certainly leads to ruination

In loneliness they orbit about in the endless heavens

Never to join as one, but separately remain

To rise and set, day night, light dark, at sixes and sevens

Ordered chaos, hide and seek, her passion will not wane

How long can this slow dance go on

It seems that one would tire

An eternal chase for both moon and sun

Conquest of love and unity their heart’s desire

Will they give in, a hunt neither can win

Destined for all of time to share this dance

But love endures all, is patient, kind, will not wear thin

Eons have they’ll stay suffering in wait, of their true love’s romance
