Steak

A Culinary Delight

By Mark Stigers Published 10 months ago 1 min read

When I cook red meat on the grill

Its sizzle and pop you will hear

I take part in an ancient thrill

As cuts of meat over fire I do sear

Since before man painted cave walls

We have hunted meat

Answer your ancestors call

And eat what you were made to seek

Something you need to know

What was good to eat they say

A hundred thousand years ago

Is still good for you today

Is there a better taste so hot

Than a freshly cooked steak

Does your mouth water at the thought

Of a sensation so great

A thick grilled piece of meat

Just charred on the outside

Inside nice and steamy pink

It will make a grown man cry

Let me tell you what to do

Get yourself a fork and knife

And know the hot steak laid before you

Is such an ancient culinary delight
