Stars & Fire Birds

Look Up to See Within & Down to Be Blind

By Phoenix S.Published 7 years ago 1 min read

We run from the shadows of past

We run fearing we’re the very last

I find solace in other’s happiness

while being blind to my own

Sometimes I feel so alone

People say we have lights like stars do

The hotter they are, the more blue

Maybe that’s why I see the sky as fresh

Maybe that’s why I see fire under my flesh

With a heart of gold, how does ice move?

With hatred in blood, how do we ever improve?

Love is the light while hate is the absence of

We fill the with world something to rise above

If a phoenix is reborn, what is being purified?

If a phoenix’s wing is torn, who’s horrified?

The light we share, the stars we carry

Weights us down with moods of marry

When our wings are clipped,

do we still float among the other stars

or do we turn cold from bleeding scars?
