Stargazing

Letting go of feelings

By D.DPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

I clench your hand tightly, I've never seen such a sight

The hours pass by, and the sun slowly dips behind the trees

it's as if tiny flecks of snow, decided to never fall.

taking their place in the sky, and resting peacefully

"I want to be like them"

Not yet.

Your gaze balances towards me, like the sun

"When your ready, follow me"

I slowly begin to push off the wet grass, and follow you into the distance.

Like a sunflower.

You were right, I wasn't ready. Your gaze was never balanced,

And I was never your sunflower

The snowflakes were never really resting,

they were just on display for us to see, and admire. But when they made us weary, we could leave.

They became attached, and were left by themselves.

Stargazing was fun when you were really there.

Now i'm just a part of the traces of what's left..

A snowflake.
