Stand Out

Even When Sitting

I stand out

*

even when I'm sitting

*

Sunk back in my chair

quietly listening

*

I stand out

*

Even in a crowd

where I'd like to blend in

*

Even with my hair disheveled

my leggings torn

and my tank top dirty

*

I have that distinct

kind of face

people say that

they'll always remember

*

Eyes that electrify

the soul

into the body's

awakening

*

I stand out

*

Even beyond my appearance

I'm noticed for my frequency

*

Even with my shields up

like a balloon's static cling

people are attracted to my energy

*

I believe

it's because

I'm a soul that is free

*

Something rare

Something

that stands out

clearly

*

when seeing me

being me

gives them a taste

of true freedom

fact or fiction
