Spurned

Some Fish You Throw Back

By Earl W. PearlPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

My heart was surrendered to you

It’s tragic the things you would do

Your lies stabbed right through it

My friends said they knew it

You’ve rendered this heart, residue

You’re no more the person I knew

My image of you was untrue

You just trampled my heart

And then tore it apart

If God had just given me two

heartbreak

Your rhyming pattern flows really well here! I love a good rhyming poem that doesn't feel forced.

You definitely have to test a relationship. Trust is definitely important, it’s just not in words but action
