Bleeding Heart

In the cool of a shaded garden,

bleeding hearts hang—

delicate, tender pink drops,

swaying softly

in the winds of early May.

Each bloom a tear-shaped jewel,

their beauty, though tragic in name,

unmatched across the gardens

A symbol of sorrow,

of beauty

and of melancholy

growing from cold, dark earth

to reclaim their place in the sun

and so, bleeding hearts bloom,

not in despair, but with grace,

in all the quiet corners of the world.
