I BOUGHT A BIKE

for the exercise

to keep up with the tide

but I could not ride

and so I walked it home from the mall.

I looked for my Spa Lady card

and went out to take a jog

but I could not run

adrenaline stirs too much.

I went out for a walk

and walked twelve miles

to pay for the car

that I bought

the repairs cost that much

and when I was home

(no one would have known)

I was swollen and blistered

and alone.

I should have put that money to the spa

a sauna as prescribed

not peddlin

not hikin

not teamin up for the run

"it's all in my head" weren't a pun.
