entitlement claimed

to intimacy, no authority

who wants to know

who doesn't want to know

some parts failed the test

so i leaned into those

unavailable emotions

never vulnerable

never enough to have been had

greedy little things

need more to need

more to need, and so on

wield good faith

against from where it came

sucker-punched empathy

the first glance, skin deep

distractions, keep all eyes

focused on the surface tension

alone by choice

one choice remains

personal pathos

accept no for the answer

search inside for them

or search the stars

look around, anywhere

anywhere but that perspective

everything wasted

waiting to be watched always

never let it go

never let it grow

need to be needed

keep whatever it is around

what is gained for the energy put it

obviously unknown

obviously still needed

keep a captive

a lion or a lamb

each one knows what the other is

a price exacted, paid from obscurity
